Elmire was once prosperous. Then the Narlocks—a tribe of dark sorcerers—seized the kingdom and drove its peoples into hiding.
The Nami, the Ezio tribe, the Dagnor, the Kyoks, and the Roesh cower apart while the Narlocks turn their sights toward the rest of the land. In one small surviving village, five young adults are suddenly marked by supernatural forces for a task no one else can carry.
They must abandon their homes, families, and friends; find the five scattered races; and convince them to stand as one. The road will test more than their strength. To bring glory back to Elmire, they must first become the sages the kingdom needs them to be.
